We were delighted to host a well attended, hate crime awareness seminar during hate crime week on 12th February 2023 in crumpsall, Manchester. The seminar was attended by the deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester, police, academics and those with lived experience of hate crime.
Our Manchester portfolio manager who organised the event, Robina shah said ‘, hate crime has been on the increase in recent years so this seminar was vital to get the message out there that it won’t be tolerated. It was great to have the police, deputy lord mayor and others present to echo the importance with which the issue is being treated.’
A number of reports of hate crime were made on the day to police in by members of the public in attendance that demonstrates just how important raising awareness of the issue is.
The Foundation wishes to thank the community safety partnership, council and VCSF for making the seminar possible.
