We were thrilled to launch our community kitchen at Flowhesion HQ All Souls Bolton in Late September 2025. The launch of our kitchen couldn’t come at a more critical time. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation found Between Nov 2024 and May 2025, 7.1 million low-income households (60%) went without basic essentials. Food insecurity is rising with 5.3 million people cutting back or skipping meals, and 4.1 million people experiencing hunger in just the past month. Despite some positive economic signals, these challenges persist. Food bank reliance is up with 1.5 million families seeking help, rising from 9% in 2022 to 13% in 2025. This kitchen is more than a space, it’s a lifeline. We want to thank all of our attendees and stakeholders.
Imam Abdul Hafeez Siddique, Founder and Chief Executive of Flowhesion said ‘ I want to thank Morrisons Foundation for funding the kitchen, Bolton Council and Bolton CVS for supporting our Healthy cooking classes. It is sobering to learn that 28% of Boltonians live in absolute poverty. Our new community kitchen will be a hub for residents to build skills in healthy, budget-friendly cooking, boost nutrition awareness and tackle food insecurity. We will also be utilising this community asset to work with our system partners in the borough to implement Bolton’s anti-poverty strategy.’
